RXP manufacture and distribute a wide range of PVC-U and Polyethylene products including extruded polyethylene and PVC-U pipe, injection mould fittings and rotational moulded tanks, troughs and irrigation products. With over 100 staff nationwide, manufacturing and distribution sites in both the North and South Islands, we can service all your rural water requirements. For over 45 years, RXP has provided rural water expertise for New Zealand and global rural markets.

Our business is expanding, and we are now looking for Advanced Process Technicians to come on board based in Horotiu, Hamilton. You will help lead our Plant Operators within the Extrusion & Rotomould team. As an APT your role is an important one. On a day-to-day basis your responsibility (alongside the Team Leader) will be to ensure that the overall production plan is delivered successfully. A typical day will see you working alongside your team to set up equipment to operational standard to deliver to the required product specification. You will oversee all aspects of processing an order from raw material setup to processing of finished goods to the warehouse. Most importantly maintaining a work environment that adheres to Health and Safety standards and keeps your team safe to operate within, which is paramount.

On the flipside, your ability to mentor, assist more junior staff with training and development as they grow in their roles will be part of who you are. Our afternoon shift is Monday to Friday from 13:34 to 22:00 and our evening shift is Sunday to Thursday from 21:45 to 06:00.

Other qualities and experience required to be successful in the role:

• Level 4 Plastics Processing with ideally 5 years plastics industry experience
• Mechanical aptitude, and a knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge and adherence to statutory and company safety policies (Mango).
• Sound understanding of product / raw material handling and processing
• Analytical and process management
• Effective communication and decision-making skills
• Excellent understanding of Health and Safety procedures & ERP systems
• Excel spreadsheet updating and report use.
• Word for general report writing.
