Chief Engineer: Product and Project Management
Fisher and Paykel are a New Zealand-born company with a truly global mindset. As part of the Haier Group since 2012, we leverage Haier's global scale, supply chain, and logistics networks, and an incredible global innovation ecosystem.
At the heart of the Fisher & Paykel story are people looking for the innovation that changes the everyday into something out of the ordinary, not only embracing the exponentially accelerating world but becoming global leaders in accelerating the future to improve people's lives. Join a growing global high-performing team passionate about Technology and Innovation.
About the role:
As Chief Engineer you will bring your substantial and proven expertise from a global perspective, across Programme and Project Management driving the short-and-long-term product roadmaps, from pre-development to launch in a similarly innovative and forward-thinking mass manufacturing environment, ideally within the appliances industry.
Reporting to the leadership team you will define and execute the strategy for your product line and leverage your commercial acumen to predict and manage scope creep and profitability impacts, factoring those into your projects. You will develop commercial insights through data, industry trends, and customer needs, and build customer propositions into solutions.
Your global experience will have led you to some robust and very senior conversations with customer and stakeholders alike, that enables you to address the everyday challenges and roadblocks that you and the team may face in a role like this.
Naturally, you are a proven leader, and you can influence those around you positively to achieve milestones. You achieve this through credibility, your collaborative and inclusive style, and your ability to take your team and customers on the same journey to a successful end.
Having run similarly large-scale design and delivery projects, you understand what it takes to be successful, i.e.: commerciality, customer engagement, having tough conversations, budgets, forecasts, and providing out-the-box solutions, as required.
Ideally, you will have 15+ years of experience in engineering, with at least 5 years in a project management capacity, leading matrix teams in a consumer electronics production environment.
If you have a background in Electronics, Mechatronics, or Mechanical design engineering, proven project management experience, and strong commercial capabilities, we would be interested in talking with you.
Offshore applications are welcome, and relocation assistance will be considered.
