With a history in the electricity industry spanning more than 100 years, Waipa Networks owns and operates an electricity network that delivers power to more than 27,000 customers. We are now looking for a motivated Line Mechanic Faultsperson to join our progressive and growing team.
Our network is one of the fastest-growing networks in New Zealand, transitioning from a historically rural to a mixed rural, urban, and industrial network. The Role
You will be responsible for responding to faults in response to customers’ requirements, ensuring system switching occurs as per the plan.
11kv and 400V/230V line constructing and maintenance The disconnection and reconnection for energy traders System and customer voltage testing Cable fault and location repair 11kV and 400V/230V jointing Ensuring safety disconnections and reconnections for electricians and customers happen as per the plan, coupled with; Earth testing and repairs
About you
You will hold 2+ years of experience at the very minimum, as a Level 4 NZQA Qualified Line Mechanic, with an already exceptional proven track record, in your craft. You’re now ready to step up and continue to grow your career, as a faultsperson. You’ll also possess a current ERWB Registered Line Mechanic practising licence or if you’re a registered Electrician with a practicing licence, even better!
You take health and safety very seriously, and care about yourself and those around you. You have an excellent attention to detail, are very accurate, thrive under pressure and working either independently, or in a small, close-knit crew.
You’ll need to be comfortable working on a tablet, as this is where your job management and time sheeting will happen.
