The Opportunity

Currently we have a vacancy for an Engineering Process Improvement expert to join our team based in Avondale. Reporting into the Engineering Manager, the Process Improvement Engineer will be responsible for developing and executing continuous improvement initiatives that address not only plant performance, but identifies opportunities to improving ongoing reliability, delivering the most value.

As an experienced engineer you will analyse, provide recommendations and project manage a number of smaller projects over the coming months that focuses on preventative work and re-engineering solutions that safeguards plant operations now and into the future. Your eye for best practice and knowledge for the latest industry trends and developments means that every opportunity to recommend and inject changes or modifications ensures the ongoing performance of our equipment and machinery. The role also requires great design skills, with proven ability to produce drafts and prototypes when needed.

As a key collaborator, you work cross functionally and lead by example. You support the maintenance and production departments in day-to-day issues, supporting reliability and any work that focuses on reducing maintenance delay and increase efficiencies in both equipment and machinery at our Rheem plant. Your ability to share and disseminate information quickly across the business (both written and verbal) catering for every audience will be highly regarded. From time to time there maybe some overseas travel, which will also include ongoing collaboration with our partners in Australia.

About you

As the newest Process Improvement Engineer, you hold a relevant qualification in engineering or similar. You’ve gained a minimum of 5 years’ experience that includes work in a high-volume manufacturing environment and accustomed to what can be a forever changing and demanding environment. Experience in support activities both mechanical and electrical, planning and plant maintenance and competency working with ISO quality management systems. Just as important are proven capabilities with ability to draw accurate, high quality concepts and sound writing skills and able to prepare documentation to quality standards. You are a great communicator, able to build solid relationships, and a multitasker! Systems experience such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD or similar, and SAP or MRP system skills is ideal. Finally, you love what you do!
