Now is your chance to join a well-functioning, high performing team, based at Cambridge Stud, on a full-time basis.
While the core role is not new, the scope and location of the role is new and provides an opportunity to make your mark. The role is diverse and is part of an existing admin team looking to streamline their approach.
In this role, reporting to the Financial Accountant, you'll take on significant responsibilities for day-to-day accounts administration and tasks related to NZ/AU racing for the business.
- Racing administration work with regards to the Studs horses, which may include registrations, import documentation and contracts, and any other ancillary tasks that are required, for the upkeep and running of the stables
- Finance administration including:
- Lead role streamlining accounts payable
- Support preparation of GST and VAT returns
- Ad Hoc cost reporting
- General all round Finance support to the Financial Accountant.
- Stud Secretary duties for our Karaka location – including periodic trips to Karaka.
This is a very busy role, where you’ll need great multi-tasking and organisational skills, to keep ontop of things.
As we are a small team, there will be opportunities to be involved in the upgrade/update of our system, ARDEX alongside our project manager.
You will come to us with excellent computer skills, and a passion for systems. If you know ARDEX, even better! We also use Xero, so if you’ve used Xero previously, you’ll pick things up easily. You will also be excellent with Excel and the MS Office Suite.
About you
From the above, you’ll see that you’ll need to be an all-rounder, but most importantly, will join us with experience in the industry, ideally having performed the duties listed above. You’ll report to someone is adaptable and highly approachable, but also relies on people who can work autonomously, and perform their role to exceptionally high standards, meeting deadlines, ensuring work is prioritised, and that there are no surprises.
You’ll ideally join us with a minimum of 5+ years of experience, in finance, administration and ideally from the Bloodstock/Horse Racing industry.
This is a hands-on role for someone who is happy to dig in and get the work done. Someone who craves variety, enjoys computers and systems, continuously improving, but also working in the business as usual will suit us perfectly.
