Are you a skilled engineer with a passion for Remote Terminal Units (RTUs) and a strong background in software, particularly in protection and controls engineering, including SCADA? We're currently looking for a talented Protection and Controls Engineer to join our dynamic team.
The Role:
As a Protection and Control Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role within our Substations Engineering Team. Reporting directly to the Stations Engineering Manager, you'll spearhead the conceptualization, operation, and design standards for our protection and control systems. Your responsibilities will include:
- Oversee the creation and evaluation of protection and control scheme designs and configurations.
- Ensuring resilience and risk management at acceptable levels.
- Conduct fault diagnostics and analyse events following network incidents to assess the effectiveness of protection and control schemes.
- Providing technical expertise on protection and control requirements
- Develop and maintain protection and control design and maintenance standards.
- Support the Asset Lifecycle Team in developing, maintaining, and implementing the protection asset lifecycle strategy
What you bring to the role:
- An appropriate tertiary-level qualification or equivalent
- 5+ years of industry experience in protection and control engineering
- Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles and practices
- Competency in auditing, root cause analysis, and risk management
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
