Handworks is on the hunt for an experienced and strategic Head of Support Services to lead our admin team and drive operational excellence across our busy clinics. If you love building strong teams, improving processes, and making a meaningful impact, we want to hear from you!
About Us
At Handworks, we’re more than just a healthcare provider—we’re a family. Our multidisciplinary team of 21 hand therapists (physiotherapists & Occupational therapists) is supported by a group of dedicated administrators and receptionists. Together, we deliver top-tier care to our patients while fostering a supportive and collaborative workplace culture. We also have surgeons who consult from our clinic, and we provide administrative support for them.
As part of our team, you’ll be stepping into a company with a 28-year history of growth and evolution. Our admin team includes a mix of long-serving, experienced individuals and fresh talent, creating a diverse environment where knowledge is shared, and everyone contributes to our success.
Your Role
As Head of Support Services, you will:
- Lead and support a team of receptionists and administrators, helping them thrive in their roles.
- Strategically improve workflows to enhance efficiency and support for our therapists.
- Manage team performance with empathy and fairness, encouraging growth and accountability.
- Foster a positive, inclusive team culture where everyone feels valued.
- Oversee operations like inventory management, staffing processes, and compliance with legal standards.
- Spend time across our clinics to stay connected with team dynamics and identify opportunities for improvement.
What You’ll Bring
- Proven experience leading small teams, particularly in reception or administrative roles.
- A knack for building strong team cultures and maintaining high morale.
- Strategic thinking with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Strong attention to detail and fiscal responsibility.
- Flexibility and openness to change, with a forward-thinking approach to challenges.
- Familiarity with New Zealand’s unique ACC system is ideal
