Monteck Carter is a boutique CA firm based in East Auckland, known for building long-term relationships with clients and delivering advice that truly adds value. We’re not your typical accounting firm—we put people first, from our clients to our team.
We’re on the lookout for an Intermediate or Senior Accountant who’s ready to step up, take ownership of their portfolio, and help businesses grow.
This role isn’t just about ticking boxes—it’s about driving real results for our clients. You’ll go beyond compliance, working directly with owners and decision-makers to deliver business insights that make a tangible impact.
What you’ll be doing:
- Maintaining the integrity of client accounting records—recording, verifying and consolidating transactions
- Preparing and reviewing asset, liability, revenue and expense entries, ensuring accuracy at every stage
- Taking full ownership of financial statements—from preparation to partner sign-off
- Supporting the Business Advisory team with deep data analysis, monthly reporting and custom advisory projects
- Providing management reports, cashflows and budgets that turn historical data into strategy
- Offering practical advice on tax efficiency, structuring, and day-to-day SME issues
- Building trusted relationships with a dedicated portfolio of clients
- Contributing to a collaborative team environment, coaching junior team members (if senior level)

What we’re looking for:
- 3–7+ years’ NZ public practice experience
- CA/CPA qualified
- Strong communicator with a client-first mindset
- Experience with Xero is essential, experience with Fathom is a plus
- Someone proactive, organised and committed to quality
- A collaborator who enjoys being part of a close-knit team
